Launching Your First Blog: Essential Tips for Newcomers

Launching Your First Blog: Essential Tips for Newcomers

Today, I’m going to show you how to easily create your own blog. Blogging transformed my life, allowing me to earn thousands of dollars each month by doing something I love. You can start your own profitable blog for just a few dollars a month! I’ve even negotiated discounted pricing with Bluehost so you can start a blog on the cheap, and you’ll get a free domain through my link. Act quickly, though, as these low prices might not last!

Blogging has been amazing for me. From my business income reports, you can see I now make over $70,000 a month from blogging-related services. In 2015, I earned over $300,000 through blogging and expect to double that in 2016. I work from home, travel whenever I want, and have a flexible schedule. Life has improved so much in just a few years.

Anyone can make money with a blog, and I quickly earned back the money I spent on hosting. Paying for blog hosting is worth it, and I’m confident you’ll make your money back quickly too.

First, head over to Bluehost. Many web hosting companies are out there, but Bluehost is one of the best, which is why many bloggers choose it.

If you’re starting a blog on Bluehost and want to learn how to start a blog on WordPress, keep reading. If you need help setting it up, choosing a plan, or understanding pricing, feel free to email me. I’m here to help!

### Step 1: Register Your Domain Name

The first thing you need to do is think about your domain name. This can be tough, so give it some thought. I got my domain directly through Bluehost, which was easy, and I received a free domain for the first year by buying 12 months of hosting. This saves you money and simplifies the process.

### Step 2: Buy Hosting for Your Blog

Setting up a WordPress blog on Bluehost is easy. Here’s a breakdown of the costs:

– The “Basic” plan is just $2.75 per month if you sign up for 36 months. For 24 months, it’s $3.95 per month, and for 12 months, it’s $4.95 per month. Even at $4.95, it’s affordable, and you get a free domain.
– The Basic plan is all you need, so skip the more expensive Plus and Business Pro plans. You can always upgrade later if needed.
– Consider Domain Privacy Protection for $0.99 per month to keep your contact info safe.
– Uncheck any other extras that Bluehost offers.

Signing up for at least 12 months is highly recommended because you get a free domain, lower pricing, and avoid the hassle of monthly renewals. It’s also cheaper in the long run.

### Step 3: Connect Your Domain and Hosting

If you bought your domain through Bluehost, you can skip this step. If you used another provider like GoDaddy, you’ll need to connect your domain to your hosting account. GoDaddy’s support page can help with setting nameservers.

To modify your DNS Nameservers with GoDaddy:
1. Log into your GoDaddy account.
2. Select Manage Domains.
3. Select your domain and click Set Name Servers.
4. Enter ns1.bluehost.com and ns2.bluehost.com.
5. Save changes.

Then, add the domain as an addon domain in your Bluehost account by clicking “Domains” and then “Assign.”

### Step 4: Install WordPress

This is the exciting part! Bluehost makes installing WordPress easy and free.
1. In your cPanel, click on “One Click Install.”
2. Click on the WordPress icon under “Blogs.”
3. Click “Start” to begin the installation.
4. Choose the domain you want to install WordPress on.
5. Set your username and password under “Advanced Options.” Choose something secure and avoid using “Admin” as your username.
6. Click “Install Now.”

Save your username and password. You now have a WordPress blog! You’ll need to work on the design and content, but you’re off to a great start.
