Setting Our Wedding Date and Earning an Extra $2,336

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was fun, but I wish it had been longer. The weather was fantastic, and it really feels like spring is here. It’s supposed to stay in the high 70s all week, which is perfect. Having the windows open and enjoying the fresh air is wonderful. The picture above was taken after a long walk with our two dogs.

We finally set a wedding date—June 7, 2014! Both the ceremony and reception will be held on W’s family property, which is beautiful and meaningful to us. It looks way better than any of the estates and outdoor venues we checked out. There are also two weddings scheduled there this summer, so I’ll get some great ideas from them. Now that we have a date, I can start planning, and I’m super excited about it.

My student loan plan is on track, and I’ll be paying them off completely by the end of this month. It’s tough to part with so much money, but it’ll be worth it. Not having student loan payments will feel amazing, and it’s great to know I’ve paid them off quickly.

Spending-wise, we’ve been trying to spend money all week. We got a gift card from W’s work that has a lot of money on it, but it’s only good at mall stores. Of course, we can’t find anything we want when we have money to spend. When we don’t have money, everything seems appealing!

Some of the things I want to get include Red RayBans, jeans, dresses, flats, wedges, makeup, and tops. Luckily, the gift card will cover all of this. I also plan to clean out my closet, which is borderline hoarding. I need to sell stuff quickly, especially winter items. I’m going to flip all my hangers so I can see what I haven’t worn by the end of the season and get rid of those items.

In terms of extra income, I’ve made about $2,336 in the first week of April. This includes rent from my sister and some other sources. I’m working on diversifying my income further, but I’m short on time and have a lot on my to-do list.

Food-wise, we’re doing okay and are happy with our spending. We could do better, but we’ve made good progress. I’m still looking for healthy food and snack ideas, so if you have any, please share them in the comments.

On the health front, I’ve been doing well. I’m cooking healthier meals, avoiding fast food, and working out more. With the nice weather, I’m also walking our dogs more. I hope to lose a few pounds this month and gain some muscle. I’m feeling better and hope to start looking better too!
