A common concern for many potential full-time travelers is how to make money on the road. But don’t let that hold you back! It’s a challenge that can be managed with some creativity and effort.
One of the first questions I get as a full-time RVer is how I make money. Some people assume I’m a bum, others think I have a trust fund, but most are surprised to learn that working while traveling is very doable these days.
Here are some ways to make money while traveling in an RV:

This is my main source of income while RVing. Blogging isn’t a get-rich-quick scheme, but with hard work, it can provide a side income or even a full-time living. You can make money through ads, affiliate marketing, sponsorships, and more. I started my blog for just $3.49 a month, which even included a free domain name. For internet, I use a Verizon MiFi Jetpack, which works well for most RVers.
**Telecommute**
Many people work remotely from their RVs. Some have managed to turn their current jobs into remote positions, while others find new telecommuting jobs. These opportunities are increasing, so check out resources like Forbes’ list of top companies offering remote jobs.
**Check Job Boards at Campgrounds**
Campgrounds often have bulletin boards with job listings. These might be local gigs or temporary positions that can help you earn some extra cash.
**Work at a Campground**
Workamping involves working at RV parks or campgrounds. Many places look for workampers to do tasks like office work, cleaning, guiding RVers, or making food. In return, you might get a free RV site, hourly pay, or both.
**Find Jobs in the Places You Visit**
If you stay in a city for a while, consider local job options like bartending, working at a hotel, helping on a farm, tutoring, or getting a temporary retail job.
**Freelance Write or Become a Virtual Assistant**
Freelance writing and virtual assisting are flexible jobs that you can do from anywhere. Freelance writers create content for various clients, while virtual assistants help businesses with tasks like email management and research.
**Take Surveys**
Survey sites can provide a bit of extra income with minimal effort. Some reputable ones include Survey Junkie, Swagbucks, and Pinecone Research. Signing up for multiple sites can increase your earnings.
**Amazon CamperForce**
Amazon hires RVers for seasonal work through their CamperForce program. Jobs include picking, packing, and stowing packages, with benefits like hourly pay, bonuses, and paid campsites.
**Proofread**
Proofreading is another job you can do from anywhere. It involves checking text for errors, and you can earn around $500-$1,000 in the first couple of months. A free workshop can help you get started.
**Sell Products**
Selling products online or offline is another way to make money. Many people sell items they collect or crafts they make. Platforms like Etsy, eBay, and Craigslist are great for online sales.
**Make Passive Income**
Passive income allows you to earn money without working a set number of hours each day. This can include affiliate marketing, rental real estate, dividends, blogging, writing books, earning credit card rewards, selling photography, and more.
