Boosting Income by $1,121 and Sharing Life Updates

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend. It felt packed and went by way too fast.

We attended our good friends’ wedding and spent a lot of quality time with other friends. It was also a pretty inexpensive weekend, which is always a plus!

We browsed more houses online but didn’t find anything we liked. It’s a relief since we’re not quite ready to buy yet, so it’s good nothing caught our eye.

You might not have noticed, but I deactivated my blog’s Pinterest profile a few days ago. I had a bit of a freakout when I realized I was replying to my friends’ pins using my blog profile instead of my personal one. Some friends know I blog, but none know the name “Making Sense of Cents.” One close friend, who doesn’t know about my blog, almost found out because my blog link is on my Pinterest profile. I plan to reactivate it this week, hoping she doesn’t stumble upon it. I deleted all the comments I left her, so fingers crossed! As you can see, I’m not ready for my friends to read my blog yet. It still feels very personal. Sometimes, I wish I wasn’t such an anonymous blogger.

Spending
We did spend some money this weekend but not much. I spent $70 on clothes at the store but plan to return some items because I didn’t like them after trying them on at home. We also bought a curl bar and weights for $86, but thanks to $30 in rewards, it cost us less than $100. Fitness equipment is so pricey!

Extra Income (excluding our job salaries)
I received about $1,121 in payments last week. I expect this last week of the month to be quite profitable since I usually get paid for several assignments. Affiliate income is going well, and I have big plans to increase it. Some of you had your Page Rank decreased recently, which motivates me even more. How’s your affiliate income going? Are you working on growing it?

A friend visited, and we discussed our future business plan. We’re doing extensive research first, and my current job helps since I research companies and industries regularly. She mentioned a website called Kickstarter, which I hadn’t heard of. It turns out you can fundraise for your future business on it. Initially, I thought it was a peer-to-peer lending platform for entrepreneurs.

Food
We have a meal plan this week! I found some delicious-looking recipes and bought enough groceries for the next two weeks. Our fridge and pantry are packed, and I hope we use everything instead of letting it go to waste. We’ve been good about eating in. We only ate out this past weekend and kept it budget-friendly. How’s your food budget going? If you have any tasty recipes from last week, please share them in the comments so I can add them to my future meal plans.

Wedding
I haven’t made any new wedding plans recently. There’s so much going on that I’m not too worried about it. I’d rather save the planning for when I have time to enjoy it. Many people have asked why we’re waiting so long to get married. Honestly, getting married wouldn’t change much for us, except legally. We’re already open and committed to each other. However, I am excited to plan a fun party with all the people I love. I’ve been considered part of W’s family since day one, and I love being part of such a wonderful family. Some of you have asked to see our engagement photos, and I promise to share them. Look out for those in May!

Being Healthy
This is probably my favorite part of my weekly posts. I’ve been doing well with my health goals. Having a treadmill in the basement is great, and I try to squeeze in a mile whenever I can, like between writing blog posts or making dinner. We also bought a lot of fruits and vegetables last night and didn’t get any snacks. We’re really focusing on being healthier. My goal is to lose five pounds and get more toned overall. I need to start a workout plan and eat cleaner.

How have you been doing with your extra income, spending, and staying healthy?
